Marching Yellow Jackets - FaLL Semester
The Marching Yellow Jackets is the musical heart and soul of OP during the fall sports season. The band performs at football games, Homecoming rallies, King's Dominion, parades, and local community events. Students attend special rehearsals and band camp over the summer to memorize music and prepare marching drill that excites the crowd. Each show the drumline, woodwinds, brass, and color guard collaboratively create a dynamic outdoor musical experience!
Marching Band also gives students opportunities to serve and grow as leaders through the OP Band Council. Band Council leaders help teach music, clean drill, organize events, and vote on special student decisions in the band program. Student leaders attend special leadership training sessions each summer paid for by the Band Boosters.
Marching band students are active in many clubs, sports, and other school activities throughout the year. Students who participate in marching band for 2 years receive a special high school varsity letter!
